If you have a child at Shaker Heights Middle School, you are automatically a valued member of our PTO. There are no fees or dues, and we welcome your involvement throughout the year.

August 18 - First Day of School for students in Grade 6 only

August 19 - First Day of School for students in Grades 7 and 8 (Grade 6 students also attend.)

September 3 - 6 - 7:30 PM - Curriculum Night

September 7 - NO SCHOOL (Labor Day)

September 21 - NO SCHOOL (Yom Kippur)

September 23 - 7 - 8 PM - Parents in the Know Speaker Series & Open Discussion

October 3 - 8 - 11 AM - Shaker Raider 5K (at SHHS and surrounding neighborhood)

Register as a Volunteer

All volunteers for a school or PTO event, whether during school hours or after, are required to register as a volunteer with the district and complete a background and fingerprint check. This process is simple and fast. To register or learn more about the process please click here. 

VOLUNTEER WITH THE SHMS PTO FOR THE 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR! 

Our PTO is vital in organizing events for students, supporting our staff through grants, and keeping our parents involved. But to make all this happen WE NEED YOU! Many positions are low time commitment and are flexible. We welcome anyone who is interested in signing up, we’d love to hear your voice!
